Choir Highlights
We’ve performed at the Watford Colosseum, Camden Roundhouse and Gravesham Festival, not to mention the Palace Theatre, Watford. We’ve sung in front of a packed St Albans Abbey, recorded at Abbey Road studios, and even headlined Sox Fest ’09 to an audience in excess of 5000 people. We also performed at the Royal Gala in aid of the Peace Hospice at the Watford Colosseum in front of HRH Princess Michael of Kent, and in March 2013 took part in the annual Brandenburg Music Festival for the 2nd year running.
The Choir: Unsung Town
South Oxhey Choirs were originally assembled in 2008 for the BBC TV Series ‘The Choir: Unsung Town’ by celebrity choirmaster Gareth Malone. The TV series was first broadcast on BBC2 in Autumn 2009 and has since been broadcast around the World.
As part of the TV series, we performed at the Watford Colosseum, sang Agnus Dei by Samuel Barber in St Alban’s Abbey, recorded the single “In My Life” by Lennon–McCartney at Abbey Road Studios and headlined at our own outdoor festival “SoxFest”.
The DVD of the TV series is available to buy from BBC Shop or you can enjoy a couple of the highlights from the TV show below.
